Vistale
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Vistale collects, why it is used, what can become public and the controls available to you.
Effective July 24, 2026
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to operate your account and the travel features you choose to use.
- Account information such as email, username, profile name and authentication records.
- Trips, saved places, check-ins, notes, tags and photos that you add.
- Location and accuracy data when you grant permission for map positioning or check-in verification.
- Security, device and diagnostic information needed to prevent abuse and keep the service reliable.
How we use information
We use information to provide maps and trip tools, synchronize your account, verify requested check-ins, protect the service, respond to support requests and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information.
Location choices
Vistale requests location only for features that need it. You control permission through your browser or device settings. Background location is used only when you explicitly enable a feature that requires it. Location may be unavailable or imprecise, so it should not be used for emergencies or personal safety decisions.
Public trip links
Trips are private by default. If you enable a public link, anyone with the link can see the trip name, description, dates, public place names, day order and update time. Private notes, photos, precise coordinates, lodging and account identity are excluded from the public trip response. You can disable the link at any time.
Service providers
We may use infrastructure, database, storage, mapping, email and security providers to operate Vistale. Optional assistant features may use an AI provider only when that capability is enabled. Providers receive only the information needed for their function and are subject to their own terms and privacy commitments.
Retention and deletion
We retain account data while your account is active and as needed for security, legal obligations and reliable backups. Deleting an account revokes access and removes visible data immediately; protected cleanup may continue in the background. Limited tombstone or security records may remain where required to preserve integrity or prevent abuse.
Your controls and rights
You can update profile information, export saved places, turn public links off and delete your account from Account settings. You may also contact us to request access, correction, deletion or a fuller portable copy, subject to identity verification and applicable law.
Security
We use access controls, encrypted transport, session revocation and data-minimizing public interfaces. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please use a unique password and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
Children
Vistale is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child provided information without appropriate consent.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will publish the new effective date here and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
